Suhrid Child Safety Standards

Effective date: 2026-09-15 Version: 1.1

Standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), published in accordance with the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy. A German version is available at suhrid.de/kinderschutz.

Suhrid is an app for adults to meet new people in person. It is operated by Suhrid.de, Florian Berninger, Lehmkuhlen 4a, 25337 Elmshorn, Germany ("we", "us"). Suhrid is strictly for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at, and may not be used by, children or minors. These standards describe how we prevent, detect and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation in connection with our service.

1. Prohibition of child sexual abuse and exploitation

We have a zero-tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). The following is prohibited on Suhrid, in every part of the service (profiles, broadcasts, chats and any other content or conduct):

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, describing or linking to any content that depicts or sexualises a minor.
  • Grooming: contacting, befriending or building trust with a minor with the intent of sexual abuse or exploitation, online or offline.
  • Sextortion: threatening or coercing a minor to obtain sexual content, sexual acts or money.
  • Trafficking and sexual exploitation: advertising, arranging or facilitating the sexual exploitation, prostitution or trafficking of a minor.
  • Sexualisation of minors: any content or conduct that presents a minor in a sexual manner, including textual descriptions, role-play, "age-play" implying minors, or requests for such content.
  • Use of the service by minors: creating an account, or helping someone else create an account, for a person under 18.

These rules are part of our Terms of Service (Sections 2, 4 and 7). A violation leads to immediate, permanent termination of the account and, where the law requires or permits it, to a report to law enforcement.

Preventive design. Suhrid is built to keep minors out and to limit misuse:

  • Registration requires a date of birth and an explicit confirmation of being at least 18 years old; accounts of anyone found to be under 18 are deleted.
  • Broadcasts (the public part of the service) are automatically screened against a list of prohibited terms, including sexual terms; matching content is rejected before it is stored.
  • The app automatically blocks contact information and links in profiles, broadcasts and chat messages, which makes it harder to move a conversation to a platform outside our safety measures.
  • Every account has at most one profile photo, which must show a single face (the app checks this on the device and rejects other pictures — group, stock or faceless pictures are never uploaded). Profile photos are not encrypted: we review reported pictures and remove them for violations; pictures of minors lead to immediate account termination and, where required, a report (Section 3). There are no pictures in broadcasts and no image sharing in chats.
  • Reports of underage users carry the highest weight in our report-driven enforcement (Section 2) and can disable an account on their own.

2. In-app reporting mechanism

Every user can report other users and content directly in the app, without leaving it:

  • Report a user from their public profile or from within a chat, choosing a reason such as "underage", "harassment", "inappropriate content", "fake profile", "spam" or "other", with an optional comment.
  • Report a broadcast directly from the feed.
  • Block a user at any time from the chat menu; manage blocks under Settings → Privacy → Blocked users. Blocking immediately and mutually severs all contact: no more broadcasts, interest, matches or messages between the two accounts.

Reports are reviewed by us through an audited administration backend. In addition, reports feed an automatic enforcement system: reports from active users are weighted by reason ("underage" has the highest weight), and an account whose weighted report score reaches the threshold is disabled automatically, pending review. Broadcasts reported by several users are automatically removed from the feed.

Anyone, including people who do not use Suhrid, parents and guardians, can also report concerns to our child safety point of contact (Section 5).

3. How we address child sexual abuse material (CSAM)

When we become aware of CSAM or other CSAE on our service, through a user report, our own review or a notice from an authority, we:

  1. remove the content and permanently disable the account(s) involved without prior notice;
  2. preserve the evidence we hold about the case (account data, the reported content and the report itself) for as long as needed for law enforcement, notwithstanding our usual deletion periods;
  3. report the case to the competent authorities. As a German operator we report to the German law enforcement authorities (in particular the Bundeskriminalamt, BKA) and cooperate with them and, where applicable, with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the competent authority of the country concerned;
  4. cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement and public authorities relating to child safety.

Chat messages on Suhrid are end-to-end encrypted, so we cannot read or scan their content. Reports and enforcement therefore rely on the people involved: a user who receives CSAE content in a chat can report the sender from within that chat, and we act on such reports as described above. Profiles (including the profile photo) and broadcasts are not encrypted and are subject to automated screening and review.

4. Compliance with child safety laws

We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, including in particular:

  • the German Criminal Code (Strafgesetzbuch, StGB), including §§ 176 ff. (sexual abuse of children), § 176b (grooming), §§ 184b and 184c (child and youth pornography) and § 184l;
  • the German Youth Protection Act (Jugendschutzgesetz, JuSchG) and the Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors in the Media (Jugendmedienschutz-Staatsvertrag, JMStV);
  • the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), including the notice-and-action obligations and the duty to inform law enforcement of suspected serious criminal offences threatening the life or safety of persons (Art. 18);
  • the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as far as the processing of reports, evidence and law-enforcement requests is concerned;
  • the Google Play Developer Program Policies, including the Child Safety Standards policy.

We monitor changes in these laws and update these standards and our practices accordingly.

5. Child safety point of contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety matters, for users, parents and guardians, authorities and Google Play, is:
